Heddy Pierce-Armstrong

Heddy joined Kansas Holistic Defenders as a civil attorney in 2023.

Prior to joining KHD, Heddy advocated for the rights of marginalized populations in the workplace as a Union attorney. Heddy is a 2022 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law, where she earned an Advocacy Skills Certificate and was the recipient of various commendations throughout law school. Most notably, Heddy received the Dru Mort Sampson Award of Distinction for Leadership and Diversity upon graduation.

While in law school, Heddy was an active student diversity leader, serving as the President of OUTLaws & Allies and sitting on the Dean’s Diversity Leadership Council. Heddy gained critical advocacy experience that guides her legal practice today by serving on Mock Trial Council and competing in two National Moot Court Competitions.

In 2021, Heddy earned a competitive Peggy Browning Fellowship in Labor Law, and was selected to Fellow at a Union-side law firm in Boston. Heddy gained valuable legal experience while in law school by participating in Mediation Clinic and interning at Douglas County Legal Aid Society and Kansas Disability Rights Center.

Heddy’s extensive background in advocacy and resilient commitment to social justice led her to Kansas Holistic Defenders, where she is able to serve underrepresented people in various civil matters.
